What we've been up to

I'm waiting for Jaxon to fall asleep so I can take a nap too, and while I'm waiting I thought I would update our blog.

Jaxon is growing so fast, it's not fair. I'm excited about all the new things he is learning, but sad that he is changing so much so fast. He had his 18 month check-up this last week. He is doing great, a very healthy 28lbs, (I can't remember his height, I'm going to have to ask them next time I'm in.) He is saying so many new words and loves to repeat words you say to him. He loves watching movies all of a sudden, for the most part he won't really watch unless there is music and dancing involved. He always wants something on though. I really don't want him to get use to watching TV too much ( I might change my tune when baby #2 comes in a few months), so I try to only turn it on when I'm trying to do something and need him distracted. He loves to help mommy with whatever she is doing, when I sweep I have to take out two brooms so he can help, and i have to be extra watchful when I'm doing the dishes. He loves to put things into the dishwasher to help me load. It snowed here recently and the poor guy HATES the snow. We went out in his cute little snow suit and boots a couple of weeks ago, he fell in the snow a couple of times, the second time he did nothing to stop him self so he got a face full of snow. He's been pretty upset at the snow sense, I think we need to practice playing in it so he gets use to it. He is learning peoples names, which has been super fun. He has a little friend he plays with named Jacob, any time we come near Jacob's house he get so excited and says Jacob over and over again. We were driving past the High School the other day and he said Jeff while we past. I was surprised that he connected the two. (obviously missing his uncle) He's also said his name a couple of times which I love. Also, we are on week two of no pacifier, it's been rough but I think we are all getting use to it.

Jason: Last week Jason got some great news from work, he has been promoted to Mr. Manager at the little store here in town. We are so excited and I am so proud of him. He is a very hard worker at whatever he does, and it's great that they recognize that too. Just a few days before he was told that everyone's hours were being cut while the store is going through a slow time. (we are all waiting for the ski season to start here so things pick up) We were really worried and he had started apply for other jobs. Well it turned out that the manager now (Jason is being trained through November) had gotten a job offer in Twin Falls and was leaving. So not only is Jason getting salary when he becomes manager in December, but he has to do a ton of training this month, yesterday he worked an 11hr day. So he's getting all his hours back plus more. We are feeling so blessed and are excited for this opportunity. Jason is still going to school to be a teacher and we are hoping when he is done he will be able to get on teaching at the high school here in Fairfield. He's still coaching Track and Football so we'll see how everything works out with his new responsibilities at work. It's going to be a little rough when the baby comes as he'll be fully involved in Track, but I really feel that everything will work out.

Lahia: Not much is new with me. I have had a rough go with this pregnancy as far a symptoms are concerned. Already I am having a tough time sleeping and I'm only in my 6th month. That is probably my biggest complaint at the moment. I told Jason last night that by the time this baby comes I will be a zombie from all the months of horrible sleep. Other than the non-sleep and some other symptoms things have been going really good with the pregnancy. This baby is very, very active and thinks my bladder is a punching bag most of the time. I am curious to see the baby's personality when he or she arrives. Already my pregnancy has been almost night and day different from Jaxon, I wonder if that translates further into what kind of babies they are. I have been pretty content, for the most part, just being pregnant with this one. I think that's pretty common with the second. With Jaxon I was so excited for him to come from the moment we knew we were expecting. With this one, I am excited but I also remember how much work little babies are at first. I'm a little more content just waiting for the baby and getting as much done and planned as I can. Today for some reason, that all changed. I was reading in one of my pregnancy books, and all of a sudden I was done being pregnant and I just wanted the baby here, now! I think some of that is not knowing what we are having and some might be because of Jason's new job and the security that comes along with that. But I am ready for baby number 2 to be here!

=) he finally fell asleep!

a new game!

video Jaxon saw me with the camera and I was worried he would be more interested in the camera than in what I was trying to record. Luckily that was not the case, but that's is why I say "oh dang-it" at the beginning. They had been playing for a while together before I got the camera out. The poor guy had a huge red spot on his head by the end. But it was super funny to watch them.

Here is how Jaxon says "Where'd it go?"

birthday fun

To celebrate my birthday Jason, Jaxon, Julie and I went to Boise for the day. We went to a fun pumpkin patch and Olive Garden among many many other things.
The pumpkin patch was really fun, they had a little petting zoo that Jaxon loved! He was so excited about the baby cow and pony they had there. They had a huge (5 mile) corn maze that we decided not to go through. Luckily they had a little kid hay bail maze that Jaxon really enjoyed, it was really the only time while we were there that he got to run free!
We went to Olive Garden for lunch, and I got a new board game called Puerto Rico (we played it twice today already, it's a lot of fun) My birthday really is this coming Saturday, but we thought since the weather was so nice (almost 80) we would go a little early. For my birthday we are going to eat pumpkin pie and carve our pumpkins!

surprise

We had our ultra sound yesterday and they couldn't tell what we are having. I'm so sad, I've been looking forward to knowing for a while. They didn't even give us good pictures. I was not impressed with the lady doing it. We should have been more pushy and made her look harder to see what the sex is. Oh, well, too late now.
So I guess in 20 more weeks we'll find out what we are having when he or she comes out.

more pics

after eating a chocolate cupcake all by himself!

Poor guy got stuck between the couches, and of course I had to take a picture before I could help him out!

Getting ready for one of our favorite holidays! By the way he is going to be a puppy for Halloween, the boy LOVES puppies!

The snowman Julie and her dad made on Sunday when we woke up to the whole outside being white! Jaxon kept saying uh-oh everything he looked outside. Snow in October, this is my kind of place.

Jaxon won't sleep with a blanket, and he often wakes up cold. Julie and her mom had a great idea for how to keep him warm at night, make a blanket he has to wear! It works great and he stays warm.
